Community and Partnerships

NC State Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship works with many campus and community partners to develop and support the next generation of world changemakers.

Campus Partners

We are part of a robust campus ecosystem whose lifeblood is multidisciplinary collaboration and deep partnerships with many on-campus ventures. These include:

B Corp Clinic

In partnership with Poole College, our students are exposed to the B Corp movement and given the opportunity to become B Corp ambassadors to emerging companies seeking certification.

Park Scholars

We have mentored many Park Scholars through our various programs and have had at least one Park Scholar in every cohort of the Social Innovation Fellows, launching them into their careers as changemakers.

Office of Sustainability

We work hand in hand with the Office of Sustainability to ensure all of our programs are as sustainable as possible. In fact, the Social Innovation Fellows won the 2020 award for our sustainability measures.

Kenan Institute for Engineering, Technology and Science (KIETS)

Funding from KIETS supports the Social Innovation Fellows and Associate Director Raj Narayan serves as one of the core faculty team mentors for the Social Innovation Fellows program.

Venture Partners with the Social Innovation Fellows

The Social Innovation Fellows partner with change leaders on campus. These ventures have included: The Haiti Goat Project, The Flexcrevator, NC State’s Compost Facility & Research Cooperative, and NC Sea Grant.

Community Partners

We count many local community sites and organizations among our valuable partners in providing internship opportunities, mentoring, incubation support for social ventures, pitch competition hosts, networking events and informal connections with Raleigh and the Triangle region. These include:

Raleigh Founded

Through the e-clinic sponsored by NC State’s Poole College of Management and office space provided by the university’s Office of Technology Transfer, our students and faculty benefit from real life engagement with local start-up ventures.

The Loading Dock Raleigh

The Loading Dock Raleigh is a membership based co-working space near downtown. This space offers “fishbowl” activities and working space for students seeking to learn about social entrepreneurship and social sector organizations.

Venture Partners with the Social Innovation Fellows

The Social Innovation Fellows partner with change leaders locally and globally, many of which founded by NC State alum. These ventures have included: Wine to Water, 700 Rivers, Our Wave, All We Are, A Place at the Table, Reborn Clothing Co., and OceanWorks.
